Freeman opens up 2024 season with pair of Top-10 outings at Screven
Payton Freeman unloaded his Freeman Plumbing No. F1 at Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Ga.) to kick off his 2024 season at Winter Freeze XIV.
Among 34 Southern All Star Late Models on site, Freeman locked himself into the $3,000-to-win A-Main and made up five spots in 30 laps to finish seventh.
Knocking down the second-fastest lap in his group on Saturday, Payton followed that up by finishing runner-up in his heat and earning a fourth-row starting spot in the 50-lap finale. With a $12,000 prize up for grabs, Freeman moved into the Top-5 and recorded a fourth-place finish. He trailed Brandon Overton, Garrett Smith and Haiden Cowan while Wil Herrington completed the Top-5.
