Freeman suffers flat in Independence Shootout at Senoia Raceway
Payton Freeman entered his Coltman Farms Racing No. F1 into Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series / Ultimate Super Late Model Series competition on Saturday afternoon at Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.) for the co-sanctioned Independence Shootout.
Following the third-quickest lap in his qualifying group, Freeman finished first in his heat race which placed him on the front-row of the 50-lap main event. With a $10,000 payday on the line, Payton led the first 15 laps before being overtaken by Jimmy Owens. Payton ran inside the Top-10 until a flat tire forced him pit side and he was scored 16th in the final rundown.
Mechanical issues with his hauler prevented Payton from continuing his HTFSDS points chase at Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tenn.).
