Payton Freeman runner-up at Ultimate Motorsports & RV Park with Ultimate SE
Making a last minute decision to head South, Payton Freeman was one of 30 Ultimate Southeast Series Late Models at Ultimate Motorsports & RV Park (Elkin, N.C.) on Saturday afternoon for the $7,500-to-win Ultimate Takeover event.
Freeman laid down the second-quickest lap in his qualifying group which automatically locked him into the 50-lap main event. Running inside the Top-3 for the entire feature, Payton battled in the closing laps to secure the runner-up position. Freeman trailed race-winner Ross Bailes while Jordan Koehler completed the podium.
