Freeman faces electrical issues with Carolina Clash at Lavonia
On Friday evening, Payton Freeman made a return to his home track of Lavonia Speedway (Lavonia, Ga.) for the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series-sanctioned Buck Simmons Memorial.
In a field of 29 Late Models, Payton went out for his qualifying lap and quickly discovered electrical issues in his No. F1 Late Model. With a last-ditch effort in his heat race, Freeman was unable to overcome the mechanical problems and did not transfer to the $7,500-to-win main event.
